Can mint be grown over the winter as a house plant?

This summer I have enjoyed keeping a vase full of mint from my garden indoors. I have used to to make excellent tea, as well as to discourage ants and mice from taking up residence indoors.

I have never tried it, but I think it would work if you have enough light for it.

It really loves full sun and is a vigorous grower, I'd try it if I really wanted to, but honestly, I'd be surprised if it was really happy.

I think there is nothing to lose but a little effort, and you might be very happy with the results.

Mint and basil can be grown indoors. That they thrive in fast forward in Spring, and require an environment high in light and warmth with no drafts simply means that you need to give them a deep pot with fast draining soil. Good Luck! Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I've actually tried it... And it hasn't grown as an inside plant for me.
Down my way, the Mtn mint usually has foliage (outside) that I can use all winter, dunno bout up yer way.

You might try monarda... Seems like that would be more forgiving.

No success here with growing mint indoors
I have wintered over some, not hardy ,here by cutting down and leaving it in the unheated garage till spring in a pot.

I dry a lot of mint for tea and the flavor seems as good as fresh , but interestingly enough the smell is less intense
