Yes, that is what it is looking like now. The picture I have in the Sedum Database is from last Fall, I just got it and it was almost dead from being water logged. They were sitting in a tray with no drainage at the nursery. I really didn't think they would come out of it. So far I see growth in two of them. Thumbs up
I keep checking the Ogon, I don't thing they are as forgiving. Sad

I picked up a Purple Emperor today and a variegated Summer Phlox "Norah Leigh" I think they will look good planted together.

They do look good together Rita, and I love the scent of phlox. Here's a new one (Turkish Delight) I picked up for my DIL. It only gets about 6" tall, but it is an upright sedum. The flowers are supposed to be very dark red. Not showing much color in the leaves as it wasn't getting much sun.

We have a Gazebo and this year we are expanding the floor and adding larger planting beds on the corners. I was thinking that I might plant these in one of the beds as the phlox has such a nice sent.

That is going to be such a lovely place to sit and relax on a nice summer day/evening. I so love the scent of phlox in the evenings. We have a wild/native one that perfumes the air in the afternoons and evenings. Here is Jocey's new Sedum 'Xenox'. Again, this one isn't showing much color as it wasn't getting enough sun. It will color up soon as it is in full sun now.

My PURPLE EMPEROR out in the front yard is looking very good with nice dark color. This is the one from last year that made me like it so much I bought two more for my backyard. I love the dark colored ones.

Rita, I see why you like it so much. That color is beautiful. It gave me an idea of what to plant with my chartreuse colored spider wort plant. I think those two together would really be pretty. Thanks for the idea. : )

It more or less hides the strappy leaves of the daylily behind it. Plus when the Agastache to the right of it gets going blooming for the summer, they sort of blend together. The sedum leaves and the light airy agastache are great contrast and look wonderful together. One of those happy accident placements that really worked out.

I still haven't planted my Purple Emperor it is still in it's pot in the driveway. I really love the plant and when I get home I'm hoping to cut a few starters off it and try rooting them. I had great success doing that with my variegated tall sedum. We had to run down to Fl. as my FIL went into the Hosp. we have been here 2 weeks now and will probably be here for most of next week before we can get home. I tried to get as much done before we left as I could and I had 4 big EE bulbs to plant so they ended up in the Gazebo corners for now. Looks like the PE & VGP will end up in another bed for this summer. I have been thinking alot about what to plant there I still like the PE and VGP, and thinking about putting in Nandinas for some height and winter interest. We will see what else catches my eye for those plantings. But I have decided that I want all four corner to be planted the same. Thought you might like a pic of the Gazebo area. This shot doesn't show it all "dressed up". There are screen curtains that hang down the sides, table cloth and house plants that will be placed out there.

I have a couple of different Sedum that I raised from seed (or actually dug up the volunteers - does that count?) One is a pale mauve with blue tinge, and the other has glossy olive green leaves with deep red stems. They are from Purple Emperor, so check around the base of your plants and see if you have any volunteers. This is how they come up with new varieties, after all!

The pale mauve with blue tinge sounds very pretty. I love the Purple Emperor I picked up this spring. I took a few cuttings from it and I'm hoping to get more of them.

They're so easy from cuttings - I also dig up the clump and split up the roots. Then when they almost completely dry out, in desperation they'll send out a couple of tiny shoots which indicates that they need to be planted. I was trying to get enough Matrona for an order and did this, with excellent results - I got almost 40 4" pots this way.

Thanks I would never have thought of digging up the plant to produce more starters. I have divided my other upright sedums but they are huge clumps. I usually just dig up part of the clump in the spring when they first emerge. I just realized that I didn't post the "dressed up" pic of the Gazebo. The corner beds are pretty empty looking, just got it planted so late and the EE's take so long to come up in our colder soil.
