I have a beautiful yard with multiple flowerbeds. We just moved to this house and put the beds in. We have gravel, sand and topsoil, then dirt in bags from Costco. Everything has been growing and looking beautiful. My glads are having the leaves turn brown all of a sudden. They get water, miracle grow and sun. Now, my geraniums in a different bed have the leaves turning brown and yellow. They all look like they are dieing. Never seen this before. All were new plants and bulbs. No sign of bugs or anything wrong. HELP!!

@Cinderellamoe55 -- Hi ! Linda, without seeing pictures, or knowing the area you live in. I would think it is sun damage. I live in Texas and our sun is strong. My sun glads do just turn brown sometimes. Brown on geranium usually is sun, too. As summer progresses the sun can take a toll on plants. To be more accurate in what's wrong if you could please post some pictures and your area.

Linda. Just to clarify, your title is a about glads and begonias but your post is about glads and geraniums? I agree with Sharon Rose that pictures would help. If the gladioli have flowered it is normal for the leaves to turn brown and die afterwards. Your planting mix sounds like it may not hold water much, depending on the proportions. If it has been hot and dry wherever you are that could be the problem with begonias. I'm assuming the geraniums are Pelargoniums rather than hardy geraniums. It's not unusual for the older leaves on Pelargoniums to turn brown, but if more extensive than that it could indicate a problem. That's where pictures would help, as well as clarify which plants are having issues.
