Our potatoes are now in bloom is it too late to hill them? They are planted quite close to each other.
When do you need to thin carrots?

Potatoes grow along the stem ......if you don't hill them there will not be many formed.
Carrots are thinned as soon as there they are large enough to hold onto.

Now a good time to hill.
How deep did you plant?
If they are close, hill as a row, not individual plants.
