I realize (and do appreciate) that this is overall an upbeat and positive and optimistic site, and I thank the administration for making it so.

However, I have frequently found myself wanting to use a few icons (used on other forums) to express how I felt about certain things or situations, or in response to others' posts (specifically their images or tales), and have felt somewhat frustrated at not being able to do so.

I respectfully request that the administration consider adding the following icons: (I know that the thumbprints look awful (blown up), and clicking on them isn't an improvement (due to the boxes/text around them?), but surely you can fix that? I just grabbed the .gif images off of a forum, copied them to my own files, and uploaded them...)

Doh! for confessing when you did something stupid, like leaving your pruners out in the rain, or using the wrong fertilizer on a plant

Thumb of 2016-07-11/Polymerous/a838dc

Ack! for discussing something distasteful (but which you need to talk about, because you need helpful suggestions and/or are venting) - examples, the neighbor's cat used your raised bed as a litter box; an ugly seedling...

There was another, animated, gif that I really like to use, but I could not get a copy of the image (even static) to copy over from the forum and work right. This icon is best described as "cringing in fear" , and there have been a great number of times that I wanted to use it on this forum lately - when people were discussing finding (large, poisonous) snakes in their garden, in response to various images, or to horrific tales (such as a dog attack). If you can't give us the animated "fear" gif, perhaps you can find (or make) a static gif that adequately expresses the emotion?

Thanks for your consideration.

That's a great icon, thanks for finding it Polymerous. I'll be using that one, too.

There's one more that I've felt a desire for on many occasions - but haven't found a good icon anywhere yet. I want one that denotes "tearing your hair" in frustration.

Still wish I knew how to save some of the cutie emoticons to my laptop to be able to use in e-mail, etc. but I'm so technically challenged that this is where I need the banging head with hammer emoticon!

I've seen one on another forum in a similar vein, shows a little guy banging his head on a wall. I'm not sure if I can copy it here.

Edit, somewhat like this but nicer, although I think one would want to be tactful in its use, maybe there'd be a temptation for some to use it against somebody instead of oneself, which wouldn't be nice

Oh yeah, good ones Sue. I love the "Rock On" one and "just shoot me" would come in handy at times, too.

Yikes. As a person who leaves the dancing faces alone, there seem to be plenty of them out there! I prefer real language I guess.

I like real language conversation too but I also like some of the cute little emoji's as an added benefit.

The little images help spice things up... sometimes they can hint at, or say, things we can't (or won't) otherwise convey in words. Whistling

You should be able to copy and paste the GIFs into your email and adjust the image size so it's small enough to be an emoticon. But it depends on what email provider you use. Smiling
