WOW Janet, Those look huge. How beautiful. My aunt lives out in Calif maybe I should get her to bring me some in when she comes to visit. What beauties.
Lynn, That wall is really nice I see the Vinca Major not sure what else is growing but it looks great. I love the the whole area. Looks like it's not quite straight up and down, looks like it steps back just a little. I wonder if irises could hold fast? Beautiful.

It's pretty much straight up and down. Right now it's just the variegated vinca, native phlox, fringe cup, snowberry bush, weeds. But I got the idea to start planting some of my sturdier sedum in some of the cracks. Thanks for the idea all of you. : )

Look at all the gorgeous MOSS on your walls, Lynn! I have been known to do a little "mossnapping" from time to time when I see one I just have to have. Of course, they all die back for months here, but when we get rain, they come back. OK, off topic....sorry....ummm--anyone know of a succulent moss? LOL!

I have a succulent that almost looks like a moss, very tiny. I'll see if I can get a picture of it. Some of my sedum grow on rocks with no soil. Tough little guys. : )

Hi Lynn, I saw you were back, Haven't read all the posts yet. I haven't put anything new in the wall yet but the creeping yellow sedum is taking over. I am sending some out this week and taking some to a few plant swaps. After it flowers a lot of it will get pulled. I have more semps to add to the wall and a neighbor has some more for me to dig.

That sedum is truly a tough, strong growing plant. Love that kind. The wall is awesome and I love the way you have all season interest in your plantings. Can't wait to see it with the semps added. Thumbs up

Holly what is the large plant in the back with the deep, sharp cuts to the leaves? Very interesting shape and form.

I think you are talking about the Wood Poppy, Yellow flowers likes shade and grows very fast it has just about eaten the hellebore I planted in front of it. This was taken a few weeks ago.

Yes, I thought it looked familiar. I had it at another place we lived. I didn't remember to take seed. You wouldn't have any extra seed would you? They are such awesome plants. Is yours called Celadine Poppy?
I never thought of using Bleeding Heart in a rock wall, I love that. Now on to putting some in my wall, along with columbine. I have a whole milk jug of mixed columbine I Winter Sowed. First year to do that and I am so impressed with how easy and well it works. Going to do much more next winter.

There are seed pods hanging on it now I will try to collect some for you. I only got this plant last year from a DG plant swap we hosted. I was a bit surprised at how big it got so fast. Yes it is a Celadine Poppy. The Bleeding Heart is planted at the base of the wall in a small space only a few inches wide between the brick walk and the wall.

That is one of the things I like best about these forums. They turn you in different directions and getting your imagination going. I have a couple of really nice areas that came from discussions like this.
