This was probably at your old place before you moved... It looks much more like C. cordifolia. Inch Plant (Callisia cordifolia)

I've been trying for a few yrs to take some pics that show the differences as distinctly as they appear in person, especially the "attitude" of the way the leaves hang, but not sure I've succeeded yet, beyond pics of cordifolia blooming in its' obvious way. There's some at the bottom of both entries, C. repens & C. cordifolia.

After having both around for a few yrs & putting in so many diff spots, C. repens is a confirmed shade lover and C. cordifolia just doesn't grow much in the shade at all, though it will stay alive. That can't be shown in pics at all.

Tiffany, yes those plants were at our old house where we lived for 37 years. I first got the plant @ 1997 or 1998 and it didn't have a label but at some point down the road I was told it was Callisia repens. In all the years it grew in my yard and in a hanging basket, I never saw blooms. I had it as a ground cover in locations of full sun as well as full shade. The plants growing in full shade had a more compact, tight growth habit while the ones growing in full sun had a habit where the leaves were more sparse and set apart along the stems if that makes sense. The plants I had growing in full sun looked more like the one on this page (shown growing on rocks): http://www.cabi.org/isc/datash...

I lost a bunch of my photos a few years back when my laptop crashed but these are old pic's that were on the desktop computer ... all the same plant, just growing in different light:

My eyes are such that I can't tell the difference between C. cordifolia and C. repens so if you are certain that my photos are in the wrong location in the database, please feel free to move them with my appreciation!

TYVM for taking the time to yak about this silly little weed! I think I've asked you about this before. Sorry if it's a re-discussion.

When we moved in '14, it set my investigation back to almost the beginning.Next year I'm going to try to send samples to various sources & other plant lovers who are interested and see if that helps others to see that there are 2 diff plants. I didn't realize they were different, though I've definitely seen many pics of both for decades, until I'd had the 2nd one around for about a year and noticed diff behavior in same conditions. I would understand if nobody in FL is interested in "free weeds to observe." Ha!

I've started new patches of both in various spots here but this yard is so small, IDK if it will produce desired results. I hate to let it loose in my Mom's yard because it could get out of hand there, more than I could pull up later after finished investigating. Maybe I'll get distracted with something more interesting. That would be great! LOL!

I'm about at the limit of what "they" can do with glasses too. Maybe they'll improve what they can do to help us going-blind folks at least as fast as our eyes deteriorate? IDK but we can hope! ;) Do you also have 3 options for seeing something - top/bottom bifocal & taking off glasses & getting your face right in it?

LOL, my eyes are getting really bad ... I've seen a huge change just in the past year. Two years ago I had to have laser surgery to prevent narrow channel glaucoma or something of the sort and my vision has progressively gotten worse since but everyone says it has nothing to do with that surgery. I was told six years ago that I had the beginnings of cataracts and the one on my left eye has apparently gotten to the point of removal ... hubby keeps hollering at me to make an appointment but I just never seem to remember to do it. My sister just had cataracts removed from both eyes and it was quick with a speedy recovery; my husband went to the same eye doctor for his annual exam and he liked him too so that's probably where I will go in the next couple of weeks.

Oh wow, I hope that goes well! Finding a doctor you trust is a great first step.
