What does it mean to "Propose a forum image be associated with a plant in our database"? Does that mean I can associate my own photos I posted on the plant ID forum? Sorry everyone, this is probably the dumbest question ever asked!
The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.
If someone post a image in a thread like this Hibiscus 'Creole Lady", and you think it's good enough for the database, then you can propose it to be associated with it.
Once the proposal has been approved, the photo in the link will not only be in the database but the image in the thread will be associated with the database. It will be link to the database and have more info in the thread. It look like this.
Name: greene Savannah, GA (Sunset 28) (Zone 8b) I have no use for internet bullies!
Just to be clear...
Yes, we can associate anyone's image to be included in the database, but sometimes people may get a little testy/pissy/negative and do not appreciate the gesture. Most of the time folks are okay with it but once in a while...

I haven't associated a photo with the database since someone got really upset with me doing so last year. I'd rather not cause hard feelings if someone doesn't like the idea so now I post a link to the database and suggest that they might want to add their photo(s).

Perhaps I'm just getting ornery in my old age, but I feel like Dave put that feature in place because he wants us to use it and he put the ability to disable it into our profile setting for those who don't like it. So if I think a photo is worthy of association I will do so and if they get upset, I will point them to the disable page.
