How would I include images from the NGA plant database in a posting?

Hi CS, I'm not so great at explaining things but I'll try. When you want to include an image from the database to your post, for instance here on this thread that you've started; go to the database and find the photo you want to post, such as your lovely photo of Germander below:


When I found your database photo I just highlighted and copied the url (beginning with http:) at the top of and then came back and pasted it here. You will only see the text/writing until you click on preview but once you click on preview or finished it should show up in your post.

Oops, I forgot ... When you find a plant in the database and click the green area that says Add An Image, that is prompting you to add a photo to that database entry.

Maybe this will make more sense. For adding an image to your post:

1. Go to the database and find the photo you want
2. Click on the photo to enlarge it
3. Go to the top of the page and highlight the url which will automatically copy it
4. Go back to the thread and type your message
5. Click "Paste" to have the link show up in your message
6. Click "Preview" if you want to proof read and view your message with the photo
7. Click on 'Finished"

Just give a shout out if you have any trouble ...

clicking on the url [from anywhere online] works with the [img] bb code
When posting from this sites images... I highlight the BB code, and paste that in...
see example below.

I used to copy the bb code, don't know why I began copying the url but yes, copying either works. thumbsup:

Just make sure you leave off the BB Code part.

@csandt those images in your post are taking you to your computer to find where you store your images. I would imagine your photos are in the Photo Library. The 'More' takes you to other options where photos can be stored.
