Thread OP

I need help figuring out what this microscopic little guy is. We used a 200x microscope and this is what we saw. The stalks of the plant are now a light green/yellowish color, leafs are turning yellow and buds are turning brown (looking as if they are dead and going to turn to dust but still have moisture to them) please help!

Welcome! One of your pictures won't load, but from the other it doesn't look like a nematode to me, more like an eriophyid mite. Some pictures for you to compare:

What plant is it on?

I agree No idea what it is but it's not a nematode. They are soil dwellers that invade plants through the roots. Also they're much smaller - you wouldn't be able to see them at all with a 200x microscope. With a 1000x you can see them just barely, and they are longer and thinner proportionally with pointy tails.

Please won't you fill in your personal profile, so that we can know your location? It's so much easier to answer questions if we know where on the planet you are. There are also a lot of places on this continent that don't have any nematodes at all. Not sure about other continents.

You can see them with lower magnification, there's a good picture of a foliar nematode from hosta on this page at 40X for example, but I believe you need closer to 1000X to identify them - if you're someone who can identify nematodes to species, which I'm not.

What plants? Any pix? 3 types of nematodes- and they attack specific portions of certain plants. Show the plant damages to get help with causes

The damage I have seen affects the roots severely with growths, that look like warts on whitches nose, all over them.

Sounds like root knot nematode, like this?

It's not the OP's problem though, unless the critter in the OP's picture that looks like an eriophyid mite isn't the culprit for the damage. Some info on eriophyid mites:
