Jill, You got them....... I'll keep the cuttings separated from each other, so your's won't be mixed.
And share the Easter Cactus one too if you like..... So, that will be a little of each... Christmas,
Thanksgiving and Easter.... So you'll get a surprise color each holiday... If they are colors you
already have you can share them next year. hehe

Sally, I really like the Easter cactus... They do remind you of daisies. The mixed pot full I have are Christmas
and Thanksgiving, but that's what I think I'll do this year, is sacrifice the blooms and separate them
out as they bloom so I know what colors they are, to offer them in the future.

Chantell, My Thanksgiving cactus, bloom a lot, even through out the summer. Wonder why they call them
Thanksgiving Cactus? Anyone know?

@Sallyg did you ever get any results from 'smooshing' your Holiday Cacti blooms together that one year?

I prefer the Easter Cactus and would be happy to have a plant or cutting from those of you who have some. Thanks. @Shy_Gardener I'd enjoy one of your assorted pots, too, and a share of pink Easter cactus if not too much trouble.

Judy - You got them, same as Jill's above... But don't know for sure the Easter one is Pink (They had mostly pink when I'd seen them during the holiday, but also had Deep Fuchsia & White - my favorite) Of course I was looking for a Red one, that no one seems to have during Easter, or maybe they just go real quick... So these are all pot luck... But if your like me, anything blooming is awesome....

Jill & Judy, I have to retract my Christmas Cactus cuttings. Sighing!
Just looked, and I don't have a Christmas Cactus in my pot anymore, Shrug! (Folks sent me cutting when I first came on this site, but they are just started cutting....in their own pots ) So what I have to offer is 2 Thanksgiving Cactus (unk color, I'll take cutting from two separate stalks) and an Unk color Easter Cactus plant. Sorry about that.....Thought for sure I had at least one Christmas Cactus in there, actually thought there were two and two.

Judy, Everything goes out in the spring, stays out until the temps drop to 50 degrees, except I do bring bloomers back in to enjoy inside since they are potted. I lost plants this year though. A lot of cactus look horrible from weird temps and cold.. I'd bring them in and take them out and bring them in and take them out. Don't remember a spring like the last one, never had this problem before. And I have a lot of tropicals and Cactus, and come spring I'm ready for them to go out and do a good spring cleaning. They do so much better out side too. Fresh Air, lots of humidity, rain water, and more like their natural environment. I've had Cactus that grew so much in a single spring, summer & fall out side I had to give them away, because they grew to tall for my ceiling. Then, this year, I had a huge really old Beloved Brazilian Rain Tree Bonsai, That I'd had for Years and Years, that I lost during the weird spring temps and rains. I was sick. Crying But I still believe it's better for them to be outside, when they can. Bugs and all...

I think I did get a fruit on the Xmas cactus when I tried hand pollinating, but decided not try doing the whole cycle to new plants.
Plant it and they will come.

Frenchy, you got them.... But the Thanksgiving ones could even be the same color. If it is we'll swap it out with another later.

So, Donna, just skip them for me. Sounds like it was a hard year for you and Gita and JB with your Holiday cacti. Sorry for your loss of Brazilian Rain Tree bonsai. Isn't it amazing how attached we can get to a plant... Group hug

@Chantell, there will be a Buzz waiting for you at the Swap...unless, of course, you arrive early!

No problem... Judy, thanks for the quick update and hug, and yes I think you can get quite attached and/or feel a sense of complete responsibility for a living thing, that you've put a lot of time into... They say that's why it's best to have many.... So you can't get so attached to just one.... Rolling my eyes.

On a different note.... Ricks Mints and Mike's Thyme sound so delicious. Wish I had the space for herbs... But just wondering how do you guys keep them contained and /or grow your herb gardens?

@Critterologist & @AspenHill ... I knew the diverse collection would amount to some good someday!

Larry and I talked it over, and I think this fall, I'm going to get all of the hosta, and everything else, out of the pots and into mulch beds in the woods. I figure they have just as good a chance of surviving there as in the pots. And it will be a lot easier to fence it off from the 4-legged rats. The tree rats are, of course, another story. Sighing!

I've never had trouble with thyme being aggressive but of course mints are another story. I have a couple of places where they can "run," but otherwise I do pots, or half-bury a big pot in the ground. Kentucky Colonel Spearmint is actually an exception for me... it spreads readily but doesn't seem to choke out other plants the way most of the mints do... in fact, I've successfully grown snow peas in the bed where the KYC spearmint lives -- the mint kept the bunnies away by confusing their little noses!

Sorry about your bonsai, Shy! Maybe I can set you up with a new one to play with... don't have anything from Brasil, but I do have one from Australia (bottle tree, I think) that would like a more attentive keeper. I'll try to make a note of it. Smiling

Cool trick Jill, with the KYC Spearmint..... I love the smell of mints, such an inviting fragrance. Your so sweet, and what a kind offer, But sadly with the Bonsai....it does happen. No one has Bonsai without a Bonsai bone yard. I'm always awe at the National Arboretum Bonsai display, thinking how someone has fed, watered and sheltered some (the really old ones) for centuries. Talk about dedication.... But for me, I have trouble hossing the larger pots anymore.... so if/when mine pass (hopefully not due to, to much fault of mine) I'm changing over to smaller potted plants. But Hmmmm since you already have one. Ya think he might want a friend? How about I bring you a starter? Outdoor one of course, they are much easier to tend to.....

Rick, I'll bet your hosta's in a wooded setting would be beautiful, and your mouse ears in the pot is adorable.

LOL The Austrailian bottle trees go outside only in summer. I have a "grove" in a big shallow bol, and one little one that's struggling because I'm trying to play with its roots and probably not watering it enough. I agree with being in awe at the specimens at the Arboretum!

I do have some maples started (from Muddy's yard) and may try bonsai with one or two... also have a baby cedar? that needed a home at the end of a swap. I bet some of the many Rose of Sharon seedlings could be tried as bonsai also... would they make tiny blooms? who wants one? or 12? Whistling

There are some red maple babies (1 - 3 ft) out there also (I think our big "Autumn Flame" maple has started producing lots of seeds)... so if anybody is looking to add maples, please say so and I'll get some dug (I can't dig them, but my nephew can!)
