Mike - Wow! That one held up quite nicely despite the heat! Looks like a winner to me! Thumbs up

I have one in my garden that is still in the bud stage. It is covered in buds, but it hasn't bloomed yet. I think it must be the latest. It is When My Sweetheart Returns.

Nope, just looked and Eye Declare has even smaller buds. I just bought this one last year and don't have my own photos yet.

Bumping this thread back up! I was looking for my Olallie Heikki in the garden, and finally found it but it hasn't even started to bloom yet! Several other Olallies are just starting, and what I call the 3 sisters, Carmine, Scarlet and Catharine Elizabeth are beginning their tall husky and heavy red blooms. Simmering Elephants, Under the Wire, are among the late crowd. I will try to take some pics. one of these years I will grow some of each of these in the same bed for a grand finale!

I'm still waiting on Sandra Elizabeth to bloom. As for Olallie-I have Butterscotch Harvest, Hurricane Eduard, A Ripe Peach & Watermelon Summer yet to bloom.

I also have 2 seedlings that I thought for sure wouldn't bloom this year that have sent up scapes. The weeks of rain we've been having must have been the cause.

And I added some new daylilies this year and one still hasn't bloomed (Pinhill Claret Symphony). Checking to see if Never Too Late decides to throw a scape every day.

I'm always looking for more lates, because the early season weather is usually dodgy.

Location seems to really make a difference with some cultivars. Winters here are mild, and the daylilies start to grow very early, yet it's cool at night, so the peak volume of bloom is about the third week of June. This climate seems to throw some cultivars off schedule, but not all.

(registered bloom season in parentheses)

Far From The Madding Crowd (M) finished up about a week ago
Sun Temple Spirit (VL) blooms Early-Midseason here
Palace of Lights (M-L) started about three weeks ago, still going
Gaudy-Gaudy (M-L) started about three weeks ago, still going

I'd rate these four as consistently "late" here, they commenced blooming within the past week;

Chateau Belair (M-L)
Sears Tower (M)
The Dream Society (M-L)
Yadda Yadda Yella (VL)

Just made a pass through the yard, found two more;

Wallingford Wooly Bully (M) FFO tomorrow
White Eyes Pink Dragon (M) FFO in about a week

Last year;
WEPD was similarly late.
WWB was one of the later blooms, but I don't believe it was quite this late.

There are a lot of Ls and VLs that bloom late for me. Many of them are listed above, but some are not. The ones I'm wanting to start with are some bud builders that start when normal daylilies bloom, but still look to have weeks of blooms left for me.

One new one that is particularly good this year is Party Every Day.
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/60a911

This one has been blooming for me for since July 10, one day shy of 4 weeks, and look at the little buds that are still on this one today:
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/598a68 Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/955cb5

If that little nub in the red circle is a new bud as I think it might be, I'm going to be seeing blooms from this on until late August, I would think.

Other bud builders that go late include Frans Hals, which most people know. Here are some others in my garden that will probably go well into August despite a relatively early start:

Uncle Bryan, which also started blooming on July 10th for me this year:
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/27cba9

Crazy Awesome... probably only has 2 weeks left for me, but still not bad since it has already bloomed since July 8.
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/d71423

And here's a few traditionally late-starting L's and VL's that I didn't see listed, as they look in my garden today:

Mascara Snake -- Just got started this week. If I stake the scapes and kill my neighbor's morning glories, it should bloom until September for me.

Pagan Spirit (Blooming since July 23 - Two weeks)
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/c40fd2
Lots and lots of buds left could get to the end of August.

Jury's Out (Apps) -- Just started July 28. Seems to be a bud machine. Only had it since last fall.
Thumb of 2018-08-05/Lyshack/e0640c

Late Report -- Has bloomed 5 weeks for me the last couple years. Started July 28 this year.

After Awhile Crocodile and Autumn King is also sending up scapes. Indian Ripple started a couple days ago. Sandra Elizabeth started at least two weeks ago. Rated from what I have read as the marker between the late and the very late.
Bermuda Coral started about three weeks ago. Rated as VL.

Mike - I believe you sent me Genesta 2 years ago. I still have it but it has yet to bloom for the very first time for me. When you say this is a late bloomer, do you have any idea how late it might it be in Florida (zone 9b/10a)? Or does next year look more possible to finally bloom?

I believe. Did the fans increase ? If not this year, most likely next year you should see flowers.

Thanks, Mike. Yes, it has increased a little. How late might it possibly bloom?

The timing on your SEARS TOWER is odd, Ken. Confused

It is registered as a Midseason bloomer. Here I would say that it is at or pushing Mid Late.

Down here (I think I'm south of you, but surely not THAT far south) it reliably begins bloom the last week of June or first week of July, and ends in early August. (It generally overlaps just a bit with OSTERIZED, which usually begins bloom at the end of May or first week of June, and finishes the first week of July. OSTERIZED was a bit late starting this year, with FFO 6-7, and ended late, LFO somewhere 7-14 to 7-18 (we were out of town).)

This year FFO on SEARS TOWER was on 6-25, and the clump has one bud to go; it should bloom any day now.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Becky I can't tell you what will happen in your zone. Eventually you will have all the answers since you are growing it. Mine bloom until the frost. Hopefully it will do something for you this year.

Thanks, Mike. That's what I wanted to know ... if it would bloom until frost. So there is a possibility that I could see blooms this year. I'll let you know if it does.
