Char - Thanks for clarifying the info about stickies.
Creating a maximum list of 10 cultivars is pretty easy to check. Just go into the Plant Database, look up the cultivar, and check under the photo on the upper right hand side to see if it has ever been featured (it will be highlighted in blue and if you click on it, it will take you to the thread). If it has not been featured, then check to see how many people own it (there must be 3 members that "have" it.) The whole purpose of that is to try to ensure that there will actually be reviews and evaluations of any cultivar featured. We, unfortunately, do have some cultivars featured that have none or only 1 evaluation. It would be much more helpful if there were more evaluations for those cultivars. So much better to feature a cultivar that members "have" vs. cultivars that members don't have. The evaluations naturally come from members who have that featured cultivar.
I have mentioned the alphabetizing issue to Dave again. I know the "Past Plants of the Day" forum now has numerous threads listed for various species of plants. Just remember though, Dave is very busy with this website, so such a feature may not be a priority at this time.
The best way to check to see a featured daylily is to just go into the Plant Database and look them up. If you see that it was featured and you have it and want to submit an evaluation, you can do so at any time. I do give an acorn for evaluations. And you can submit an updated evaluation once a year for any particular cultivar.
This is where you find how many members "have" a cultivar:
