Is this some type of virus? What do I do about it. I only grow sunflowers very occasionally and have never run into this. What do I do about this? Thanks.

Maybe rust?

Believe for rust you can prune the leaves out and dispose of them. Disinfect your pruners with some bleach. If possible keep the moisture down.
