I have had a Baptisia for 5 years....waiting for it to grow buds and bloom.
This summer--it happened! It bloomed for the 1st time.

BUT...it was yellow! I was hoping to have the blue version..... Crying Gita

I feel your pain as this kind of surprise has happened to me with daylilies and roses. I ordered a coral rose and first blooms were burgundy. It was a hassle getting replacement for correct rose. If you can get the right Baptisia that you want it will look great with the yellow.

I like the bloom and the black seed pods on the Baptista, great long lasting plant!

I love my baptisia--it's gotten very big and full and has tons of blossoms in the spring. Here's one photo I have of it from this spring. I tried growing it in a different spot in the garden, but it wasn't happy there.

That is what i was hopng to see too.
The plant was a gift from a co-worker. I planted it in my raised bed-knowinf the soil in it
was barely 14" deep. The soil was also pretty "crappy'.
I ordered "Top Spoil (MY Bad!) Should have been "Garden Soil"....Now i M Pying for it....

I guess it finally made it's tap Root enough to bloom. Gita

I made the mistake once with 'top soil' too, Gita. Sad
