My Dad grows bamboo as a privacy fence, and cuts it back periodically to keep it contained. (Grows wild, not sure what kind.) While cutting one day he found a really strange one, pictured below, hand for scale. Does anyone know what happened here? Also, which forum would be best to find some bamboo experts?

I don't know, but it is adorable. I wanna put oversized googly eyes on it and call it a minion.

It kind of reminds me of what happens to a left over stump when you cut down a tree... it grows like a bush out of the stump...?

Yes, maybe he cut it, and the damage caused these shoots to go a little crazy...
