I have one like that, too! I am still waiting for it to turn brown to collect the seeds. Mine is pod parent Jedi Brenda Spann.

This large one is taking much longer than the smaller pods. I hope it is loaded with seeds .... I will forgive the long wait if that is the case. Thumbs up

All the ones I have here are a month old, but none is going to open. I can't remember well but maybe they require at least 45 days?

Yes. Last year I noticed that my early pollinated pods took about 6 weeks and my pollinations I later in the season took up to about 8 weeks. I'm guessing it has to do with the number of hot, sunny days it gets.

DND here the temps are really high (85-95) since the last week of june! With almost no rains. Maybe they need rain too to develop seeds?

Sabrina we have been having hot weather like you and are in a drought. I haven't been watering as much as I should and I think pods are starting to abort because of it. I need to start watering more often and deeply if I want any seeds. If you notice your smaller pods aren't really growing try more water so you don't lose them.

Pretty impressive. It appears to have 4 cells. Was it a poly bloom?

Oscie Whatley's Chucalissa has given me the biggest, roundest pods I can remember. They didn't contain a large number of seeds—the pods were very thick-walled and fleshy.

Funny Valentine produces very round pods....*when* it chooses to produce pods. It has been a difficult pod parent for me both seasons I've had it.

Elena, thanks for the advice. There's a small one that's not growing!

Ken, it was not a poly bloom but spartacus adorned had the pistil split in two. Many flowers did that in the first days, now they seem "single" pistil.

Today the big pod was harvested! I found 17 seeds. Not all are good. The good ones looked like they were close to germinate so I put them all in a pot with some nive potting mix, even the bad ones. I want to see how long they will take to germinate. I will post a picture later now from my phone it seems I can't!

None of my pods are ready to harvest yet. My daylilies really don't get going until mid-July. I have to be the patient gardener Hilarious!

I hope your newly harvested seeds germinate well, Sabrina!

Days counting is 43. I'm finding the average is 45 days. But I have very few pods, mainly because I can't help myself when I see more than a flower open and I go around the garden like a crazy brandishing a pistil in my hand! There's no a real reason for crossing daylilies I don't want anymore.
