Placing an indoor plant in direct sun... Is a definite no no.
Place the plants in the shade... If you have a nice shade garden, you can leave the plants outdoors till autumn.

It is not generally understood that outdoor direct sunlight can be 100 times more intense than indoor sunlight. Most plants cannot make that adjustment. If you are intent on moving your plants outside, keep then in shade.

A better solution is to find a sunny indoor location and keep them there year round. That way you will not be forcing your plants to adapt twice each year as you move them out in summer and back in in winter. In nature, plants put down roots in a suitable location and stay there for lifer. Plants are not like lawn furniture!
