Hi. I got this beautiful plant at shopko. It says "friendly fusions- orange bliss". However there is nothing orange about it. There are some various plant pieces in there though. I've searched everywhere and just cannot figure out what it is. Thank you!

The copper and the orange references are for two plants that are shown with the sweet potato vine (Ipomoea batatas) They are also members of the Ipomoea genus.

I agree, you plant is an Ornamental Sweet Potato Vine, either Ornamental Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas 'Blackie') or Ornamental Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas 'Little Blackie')

Friendly Fusions Orange Bliss is apparently a combination planting of Petunias, Calibrachoa, etc. A photo is shown on this page: http://gpnmag.com/wp-content/uploads/08_MixedCombos_GPN1213%...

@Beccimarie These are not the eating sweet potato, but are grown for the foliage colors. Please do post pictures as they grow.

Ornamental-leaf varieties of Ipomoea batatas make potatoes that are just as delicious as the plain leaf, plain species kind but are sold as ornamental. They are foliage sports of the species.

When sweet potatoes are harvested by the home gardener, they often skip the step of curing the potatoes, which makes them sweeter and more tasty.

A plant sold as ornamental can be treated with chemicals not safe for use on edibles. For that reason, one might not want to eat plants (or their tubers, in the case of SP's) purchased as ornamentals until/unless enough time has passed so that any systemic 'cides would have had time to dissipate, or whatever the right technical term would be.
