It was 31.8° here...not so bad. I'm mostly worried about the little hummingbirds...don't know if they can resist the freezes.

They'll probably be fine, Linda, although it might make them move south faster. My dad took this photo a few years ago. He lives in Ohio and the hummers were flying in snow!!!

Sad I put my feeder away. Maybe I should have waited longer.

Mine are still out but I haven't seen anybody at them for weeks. 30 last night - some frost bitten grass.

Beautiful pic Marylyn! I've heard that some species of hummingbirds can take more cold than others. Don't know what kind these here are. They don't look like Black-chinned, that's all I know. They seem fine this afternoon, zipping around quite lively!

I had several hummers that did fine even when we had the 18 F last winter. Just keep the feeders full. Smiling

Sorry about your grasses, porkpal.
I guess I'll put my feeder back out for a few days, just in case. I haven't seen the ones that were here over summer, tho.
Love your photo Marilyn. One hummer looks like he's flying upside down!

He is flying upside down! Isn't that cool? I love the acrobatic aeronautics they do.
