This was a nice surprise from a friend. Not only did he send me some NALS yearbooks, he sent me some seed a well.

That's nice. Because of cost and lack of technical editing as well as other factors, the NALS yearbook will cease production after this final one is finished. They have been behind for the last few years. Those old ones have some good information. Some of it is over my head but still interesting reading.

I figure they will help to familiarize me with the lilies I don't know yet. Along with the info in them. He said some of the information would be over my head being a beginner, but that in time it will make sense. But I sure never expected seeds as well. Pleasant surprise

Too bad that the yearbook will no longer be produced. But I understand it. Maybe in time they can do an online version?

I received my first yearbooks from a Yahoo Lilium group member - 15 of them. They are great treasures. But don't forget that you can purchase a CD of all of them from 1947 to 1997 on the NALS site. I did. Although I prefer the books for actually reading, having ready access to them all on the computer for quick referencing is pretty awesome.

The oldest yearbook is 1981. Most current is 1997. It's almost like a time warp. Pieces written by the likes of Judith Freeman. Then it was Judith McRae. A piece written by LeVern Freeman. And I have only page through the first 4 so far. 1989 with the tribute to Jan de Graf and OBF. Little pieces of lily history. If you need me I'll be busy reading for a while.
