Ack! It's too overcast. My camera isn't focusing well, but I'll post it anyway. The first bit of green is still the first bit of green! Whistling

The most interesting thing is; I tried to squeeze the sides of the planting container together a little and that soil is still mostly frozen!

Its humidity dome was a roasting pan from the dollar store, covered again with tulle to keep the rodents from crawling through the vent holes. I do not want 100 containers of cleome seedlings again this year! Rolling on the floor laughing

I'll get another picture when they're a bit bigger and add it to the DB. I did a quick web search and didn't see any... Blinking

I started seeds of Lizard, Thundercloud, hispanicum, and a couple of others this year. I use 1/4 Promix, 1/2 sand and 1/4 vermiculite to start them, and just sow them on top of the soil. Like everyone said, the seed is like dust, but it does germinate. I tried to take photos of my sprouts, but they're too tiny for my camera to capture well. I grew populifolium (I think I spelled that correctly), Voodoo and Turkish Delight from seed last year and they start off small indoors, and take off when they're outdoors in actual sun and heat. I use bottom heat when I germinate these.

I really can't believe mine are still alive! They're getting true leaves now, and they're just growing in regular potting mix.

I'll try new pictures soon. Smiling

Celene, have the others that you've grown stayed alive, or do you treat them as annuals? Its seems seeds would be the far less expensive way to get these plants! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Lizard is growing by leaps and bounds! In fact, I think they've just about doubled in size since I took this picture.

They're some of the cutest seedlings I've grown. Smiling

Chelle those are adorable. Just look at those chubby little cheeks.
Refresh my memory, when did you plant the seed? They really seem to take off fast.
