Have a question for you expert gardeners. I am making a list of Companion vegetables in a spread sheet and looking on the internet I find several site that differ with Lettuce. Some sites say that Lettuce is a companion with Beans and Cabbage, and others say they are not. Can anyone help with a good answer?

I knew someone some years ago, that put together a companion list. His states that Lettuce does not have a bad companion. But that it especially loves to grow with carrot, garlic, onion, and radish.

His list is based on the concept of Integrated Pest Management.

Planting plants that attract predators that will branch out and feed on the bad bugs on your desirables.

Planting plants that will attract the bad bugs away from your desirables.

Planting plants that will attract pollinators to aid your desirables.

I don't know if this is specifically what you were looking for, but I hope it helps.

I wound up using the Old Farmers Almanac as my guide and it pretty much goes with what you have suggested.

Trying to lay out where all the plants will go in my new garden area for both Spring and Fall planting and also allow for some areas to have a "second" (mid summer) planting. Turned out to be a bit harder than I would have thought.
