It is sure pretty and I like the pink Dahlia as a color echo.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone Smiling Wendy sure does like to show off. The hummers love her lips lol. The best thing about her is that she is an early (for me, non-stop) bloomer.

Welcome! Rhonda !!
I am always looking for ways to keep the hummers coming back. Saw one of their nest the last two years in different trees. My all time fav is the Cypress and Trumpet vines. Planted a few other plants over the years.
Cypress vine on Arch just above vehicle. It was loaded.

Fantastic photo, Rhonda!

Love all your photos and the information, Mike! Did you build the arch? Love it.

I bought it 5/4:

It bloomed past the date on this photo (posted above). This was taken 10/26.

Thank You! Susan, Mike and Arlene.
Susan,
I love this site and the photo uploader is fast compared to most sites!

Mike,
I love your arch and yard, it looks so peaceful Drooling I had trumpet vine on an arbor in Ohio and the hummers fought almost to the death over it.

Glen,
Isn't Wendy just beautiful?

BTW all, I'm sitting out in my shade garden enjoying the last daylight and just heard my first Chuck Will's Widow singing his lonely mating call. Such an eerie yet soothing song.

Pirl, the arches were bought at Menards a few years ago. DW loves them, It was her idea. I am planning on planting one of the three roses I won here on ATP on the south side of the front arch with the Cypress vine on the other. The rose will most likely be the one with few thorns.
Wendy is a nice one. Can't find my pics of Salvia Honeymelon and Cuphea David Verity that I got from Select Seeds last season.

The arches are lovely. I applaud your wife's idea!

It's so easy to enjoy the world of salvias. I do like Pineapple Sage though it does get huge here. Our local landscaper was named David Verity so I'll have to give it a try. The best part of them, for me, is the deer won't touch them.

I bought Hot Lips last year and hoping to see more flowers this year. I also had ordered seeds for salvia 'Summer Jewel Red'.

All mine died over the winter. Don't know why. *Blush*

Marilyn I agree with Pirl and Susan.
Susan, stuff happens! That's how I look at it. That zone thing can be tricky at times when the winter is not so normal.

I must have ordered for zone 8 but next time I will order for zone 7 because sometime we do have zone 7 winters like this past one. Whistling

I always give my zone 6a a wide path when ordering. I prefer the zone start with a 4 or 5.
I dont think any plant could have dealt with last winter.
