I'm still trying to figure out what kind of tree or plant this is. Any ideas?

Welcome! Britbolt!

I'm sorry that I can't help with an ID, but if you could provide more information, that may help. Can you tell us where this is growing at? Any other details that you can add will be helpful. Information about height, size of leaves, size of fruit, anything like that would be great.

I've never seen the plant before, but I did want to welcome you to the site!

Weird! How do the dangling fruit things attach to the tree? Or are they a separate plant? Can you cut one of them open?

Can you tell us where this tree is located?

Thanks you all. Its located in mideast ga. The little fruit things are hanging from the limb which was weird to me too. They are purple now. I will cut them open the next time I go down there. The leaves are about the size of your hand, medium size I suppose. The tree itself is about 5 ft tall. It's in my deceased grandmother's yard. She planted various things. The yard has been overgrown and this is new to me. I have never seen it. I also found another one across the yard. So maybe they she planted them and they are just popping up. I'm going to keep a watch on it though.
