Hello All,

It's pretty hot outside now and my poor husband is out in it cutting down the prairie grass to start my new peony bed for the fall! I'm inside where it's cool, looking at pics from my trip in June. I actually went through the pics from a couple of the gardens that Tracey told me about and got them cleaned up a bit so am ready to share! The first set is from Allen Centennial Gardens in Madison WI.

You captured the gardens nicely, Liz. What a great thing to do on a hot day! Relive your trip to the APS Convention. The varieties of plants and peonies in that garden is astonishing. I often drive by it as I work nearby. In every season there is something striking, even as a drive by I am happy you got to visit there on your trip. Makes for great roadtrip memories.

I think that I may try to make it to the APS convention the next time it is organized in Wisconsin. I would love to visit all the places that you visited, Liz esp. Solaris Farms and Klemn's Nursery.

I enjoyed Klehm's but Solaris was AMAZING!!!! Not sure how long it'll be before it's back in WI, next year is Raleigh NC, year after is either Oregon or Washington, don't remember which and I heard 2019 was in Ann Arbor, MI. I'm hoping to make it to all of them for the next several years, would love to meet you there, Karen!

This is just the start! Still have pics of the University trial garden and all of the tour gardens as well as Klehm's and Solaris...I'll be posting into the winter! It'll keep my mind off of all of the snow, anyway....

I have farm Pictures to add too. Waiting for winter, too much to do now.

I know what you mean, Tracey! I still have to rake and cover those 3 beds, then more weeding...too bad I can't solarize an existing garden....

What a beautiful garden! I especially like the crevice garden. It is something I would like to try someday, on a small scale of course.

I agree, Connie--it was very eye catching. I'm normally not a rock garden fan, a lot of them just look hot and kinda bare, this one held my attention.

That was a close up of the flowers from a Fringe Tree. It was relatively small, probably 8-10' tall and smelled AMAZING!!!!

It's stunning! Likes wetter soil (i.e. Does not like to dry out at all) and is amazing in person. Pictures do not do it justice whatsoever.
