So, I finally received my 3rd choice for this thread and managed to get it planted and photographed:

IBI 'Langport Wren' (Kelways 1995) arrived with a bunch of historics yesterday from Woottens UK, was given a home in my newly dug Tree Peony/herbaceous Peony/Iris bed today and immediately found a friend:

I'll post pics again on the 30th of the progress. Predators in the garden are my only threat I home, like squirrels and my dogs.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

I love the plum color purple on Langport Wren. And the beard on it is beautiful.

I like the idea of this thread - at first I decided I shouldn't participate because my orders have been a bit mixed up this year - first, rhizomes from Australia that I wanted to share between France and England had to stay in England because they all started blooming, then other rhizomes delivered to France that were intended to be shared in the same way had to stay in France because of the refrigeration rot. But why not - I'll choose one in England, one in France, and one SDB because it's my first year of growing them.

Now to choose...

So Gabe - how often do you want progress reports? Monthly? I still need to choose my 3, but wondered at what interval to post.

I don't think anything significant has really happened with mine. I'll post maybe by bloom time 5 or so of each.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

Wait until it isn't so hot. You should see more change. And in the spring there is usually a huge growth spurt with mine.

Totally_Amazing said:I have chosen Lissom because it is the only iris I have which has not been photographed in the ATP plant database.
This is when I planted it in May this year and today (viewed the other way)

Can anyone else see a face in one in the photo on the left or is it just me?

When I add future photos, should I update this post or add to the end of the thread?

It is nearly spring here and Lissom is coming along nicely. I'm not sure if the silhouette is a new leaf or the start of a bud.

Not for sure, but if it's spring time and the increases are that nice it may bloom. My leaves always spread out wide and next thing you know there's a stalk that shoots upward over night.

Guess your progress went pretty darn quick Rolling on the floor laughing

I was thinking this morning about that seedling cross of That's All Folks and Coffee Shop.
I kept coming up with the words Synchronicity and (I have forgotten the other S word! - S is for Senior, I
guess!)
Any hoo, This seedling was robust from the get-go. About 10 big seeds from the cross. TAL and CS are both
early bloomers here and that's what I had to work with! Both are very vigorous in my garden, and I'm really
looking forward to their babies!

Serendipity! Smiling
