I planted a crabapple tree, Profusion, in the Spring of this year, and it was in bloom when I bought it. It has been busy making little crabapples since then. Today, I noticed it was blooming again! I've never heard of a fruit tree reblooming, so I was wondering if this was normal? Hopefully it's normal! This is the first time I've ever grown crabapple trees, so I don't know what to expect.

Here is the tree in the database
Flowering Crabapple (Malus x moerlandsii 'Profusion')

I haven't had a fruit tree rebloom but my snowball and Japanese magnolia did. I think it is the weird weather we had in spring and early summer.

I wish my snowball bush would rebloom! I love snowballs!

We've had a normal weather year, from what I've been able to determine, so I don't know what is causing it to rebloom. I can't find any information that states that this is normal for this crabapple, or for any other crabapple. I'd really like to know why it is doing it though. Could it be from stress, or maybe it's just happy? Shrug! I know it makes me happy, but I'm worried that the tree isn't actually happy, and it's trying to save itself by blooming again in order to produce more friut. It looks okay to me, but I have no experience with crabapples.
