The Hosta that has not even flinched in the October chill or shorter daylight hours.... Holding it's own glorious silvery blue and white margines is beautiful EL NINO!!!!
I cannot believe I have not seen more praises about this Hosta. In the next few years I am going to transplant Liberty and El Niño and put them side by side to so they will accentuate each other.
I should have at least a half dozen El Niño. This is a great Hosta so far. One of the best.
Alfalfa is hay not straw. It is very attractive to grazers and rodents in the winter especially. Straw has little or no nutritional value to animals, primarily used as bedding. Rodents would however use it for nesting and insulating.

Totally surprised! Beautiful Great Expectations was the first gorgeous Hosta to shoot up this early Springtime. And the leaves appear as though they may be much larger and stronger than last year. Holy Smokes! ❤️❤️❤️
Next Hosta to aggressively open is Loyalist. And with twice as many eyes sprouting up. ❤️ I thought these varieties were poor performers. I did not expect that either!! 😲😲😲
Third is Liberty. (In the picture) Not yet unfurled. ❤️❤️ Ivory Coast is grown equal to Liberty. The rest are still just buds poking up out of the ground.
