15 days ago is above and today is below. Some of the leaves are getting larger and it bloomed. I expected to see more growth in this one perhaps it's energy is going into the blossom???

Still looks good though!😊

I placed a second order for 'Brother Stephan' and 'Ivory Coast' and 'Night Before Christmas' and 'June'. From NH Hosta.
I think they cured me ever wanting to purchase something I cannot see first. I should have required them to send me a picture in my email.

Thumb of 2016-08-09/SpringGreenThumb/ae324b

This plant looks rotten.
I started crying when I opened the box.
I didn't get the 5% discount for being a returning customer that they advertise and I didn't get the bonus plant for placing an order that exceeded $150. And these plants look hideous and moldy.
Crying Crying Crying 😒

Don't ever buy Hosta in the mail. 😭

Thumb of 2016-08-09/SpringGreenThumb/2280de

From this moment on I will only purchase my Hosta locally where I can see the plant before I pay top dollar.

These plants don't look healthy.
😒😒😒

I sent them an email today so I guess I don't expect them to respond. There was no way for me to upload pictures for them.

There are many reputable online retailers. I've never ordered from this one, but there are many that send beautiful, healthy plants. I think there are ratings for online retailers somewhere on here... but, you can't go wrong with a local nursery that has healthy plants. Saves on shipping costs!

I purchased from NH Hosta because they had great reviews on Dave's garden.

I'm so embarrassed. I don't want my friends or family to see what I paid $37 dollars each for.

They promised a 2 gallon size plant.

This is a picture of the plant they sent next to a 5" quart pot from Lowe's. At most this is a gallon size plant and it was small enough they didn't need to shake off the dirt.

This is the circumference size of the plant as it still has its shape. It fits perfectly into this 2 quart pot. Wow. $40 dollars for something I could have gotten at Lowe's for $9. I feel sick.

I have had good luck ordering from a few online retailers. There is a place that you can rate the retailer on the Watchdog site, I would wait a few days to see if you get a response from your email; f not give them a negative review on the Watchdog site, you probably will get a response.

I rated a online retailer as a neutral and got a satisfactory response within a day.

You are correct. I thought you were busy and upset at me because you didn't reply to my last tree mail.

I was in a hurry to just get started.

Oh for goodness sakes... I just realized the "June" Hosta they sent me was the wrong size. It was supposed to be the 4 1/2 inch potted one they show on the video. That's what I paid for but they sent me a dinky plug instead.

If you click on the link you will see his short video showing the size of Hosta he sells...
I ordered the 4 1/2 " pot of June based on this video and here is what they sent...
This tiny little thing matches their plug not the plant they are showing me in the picture. I paid for a size larger but they sent a size smaller.

It must be a mistake. It could have been that because they were shipping the same day as I ordered that they were frazzled.

Betsy,
I'm very shocked and sorry you had a bad experience with NH. I've never ordered from them, but I see high ratings.

All is not lost yet. I would pot them all up or put in very good soil. If there are any good leaves I'd cut off half of the bad ones. If they don't respond in a couple days, call or send another email.

For that $$, if you are not really satisfied, DEFINITELY give them a bad rating on Watchdog. I'll bet they respond. There is a Vendor rating on Gardenweb too.

It's easy to say, but try to not get too distraught, something, somehow will work out. Been there, done that.

Not much help, but if they have good roots, with a little TLC, they will probably be very nice next year. Still no excuse for sending those plants.

I am unpacking them myself. I'm confused at the question. The boxes are easy to open and I just gently lift them out.

I am holding my cell in my right hand when I take pictures. The Hosta were very nicely packed. They just were not pretty.
