I checked this morning and the photo that I took yesterday of Always Afternoon was of the second last bloom of the season. I don't see any rebloom scapes on it. The only one sending up rebloom so far that I have noticed is Little Wine Cup. That one seems to be an instant rebloomer for me.

I have just been around the garden again. A very pleasant afternoon here--and these are some of which I took photos.
AUGUST FROST--a tall near white- a treasure.



GENTLE SHEPHERD- a delicate late bloomer--doesn't last long but a nice white


HER BEST BLOOMERS-- proving to live up to its' awards--2nd year here


INNER VIEW--almost lost this one winter of '15 but it has come back with two fans now


JAMES MARSH--so similar to Chicago Apache and Royal Cdn Mountie


OVERACHIEVER--it certainly is--2nd year here


PEGGY JEFFCOAT---I have a few doubles-this is especially lovely


RUBY SPIDER--can't mistake this for anything else---huge blooms


SPIRIT FOX-Culver's plants are outstanding in my zone--this is one.


SUN PANDA--another Culver--one of the top 5 choices in zone 4


UPGRADE--a huge bloom and so pretty but not a lot of bloom. 2nd year plant.

Mary Ann your blooms are yummy! Before I purchase more next year I'm going to go through these posts again, month by month, to find my favorites!!!!

Charley--Nice collection to bring in, but you do not have to say your wife wants them. You should know by now, we understand your addiction to daylilies. You just can not leave them outside. It is OK to bring them in and stare at them in the privacy of your home!

'December Wedding' has been giving me at least a couple of flowers most days recently. I'm really going to miss it once it blooms out. (Did I mention that I had a December wedding?) Today it has 2 blooms open.

This pic is from the 6th (4 days ago?!) after I cleaned up some of the dead foliage and paper tags; there were 3 blooms that day:



Cropped to two of the blooms (I think that it pairs nicely with the Helichrysum petiolare 'Variegatum', but I have to keep hacking the latter back):



'Sacrament of Healing' is also still blooming on a rebloom scape (this pic is from the 7th; there is only one bloom open on it today) but I like the opening and edging better on DW. (I have been trying to cross the better-opening, maybe-sdlg of SoH with DW, both ways.)

I have been reflecting on my daylilies recently, and I think that I need more of a balance wrt their season of bloom. I should probably not get more E or EE ones (unless they are touted as CMOs and for good opening, or unless maybe they are a UF) as the daylilies are challenged by the cooler weather here in late April and in May. On the other hand, the weather now is fine for daylilies, and the garden would benefit from more L or VL cultivars. To that end, I have on order for fall delivery:

(an E, but one parent is 'Osterized' which always opens well here) and , a L.

@Charley, glad to see you have my favorite double, Jean Swann, a truly wonderful plant in our garden.

Autumn Minaret is a fun plant. Very tall, mine is over 5ft. It is a late bloomer.
