Thread OP

Hello, I recently posted a query on other forum but no one is replying, I'll post my question here:

"Hi everyone, I need help where I can buy plants, flowers, and soils or whatever gardening stuff in Florida. My grandmom is in Florida and I'm here in my country, I need some gardening services for her house. I found this one: http://www.uplantapp.com -- this is in Florida, has anyone tried this before? It looks promising to me. I think they offer door to door deliveries which is cool, but I need your opinion on this or other suggestions.

Thanks!

G"

THANKS!

Can you narrow down which city your grandmom is in or near? Also, it may help to know exactly what your grandmom is looking for. Full service landscapers? Is she willing to buy plants and plant them herself? Any particular type of plants, like daylilies, bird of paradise, etc? Does she have mostly sun or shade in the area where she plans to garden? All these things will help us make better suggestions.

Hi @glenn_boy13 and welcome to garden.org. Yes, we need to know what city your grandmom is in or near. It wouldn't be much help to recommend a nursery to help her if they are 300 miles away. Florida is a big state! We also have several very different climate zones here.

We also have a wonderful system of Master Gardeners here, who are experienced gardeners who volunteer (free) their help and advice to people like your grandmom. Each County in the state has its group of Master Gardeners organized by the County Extension Service.

Welcome to NGA, @Glenn_boy13 !

I agree with the above -- like a lot of us here, I'm a grandmother but still do all of my planting, etc. (albeit not with the same vigor as I might have once had Rolling my eyes. ) I also feel fairly sure that an app that offers door to door deliveries is going to be quite excessively expensive. I love the suggestion of contacting the county Extension Service ! Thumbs up
