We were given up lemongrass but my husband's co-worker. He dug it up over the weekend and kept forgetting to give it to us. After 5 days of sitting in a 5 gallon bucket in a plastic bag with water we received. It was still greenish when we received it. I planted it immediately. I mixed in seed starter in with the dirt because I was out of potting soil. A few day later I trimmed It down going to help stimulate growth.
It has beena month and it still looks this way. What can i do?

Lemon grass needs a LOT of nutrients. A LOT. Seed starter has nothing, it is just a clean medium to start seeds in. Get that plant some rich dirt and a good nitrogen fertilizer. That should help. Lemongrass also has very very deep roots. Or, at least, it wants to. If it was dug up it is probably completely freaked out at this point and needs to regrow feet of roots. Can you get it some 'root grow' food?
