Hi all. I'm new to the site and just now learning to find my way around. I'm in NE Texas, and while we usually have oppressing humidity, things have been pretty dry and scorching lately. Most of my horticultural successes have been happy accidents, but I'll take whatever I can get. I have a few roses that continue to survive in spite of me, several houseplants, herbs, and a shade garden that I've struggled to get established over the last few years. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from all of you.

Welcome! I live in NE Houston now, but have lived in Austin and before that we lived in Nacogdoches for 16 years. I've been to Tyler many times. It's a beautiful city. It was our go to place for our 'big' city shopping. Remember when Macy's was Foley's? It was my favorite place to shop!

Hi Sondra--yes, I sure do remember Foley's! Our town has grown an unbelievable amount in the last few years. Houston and Austin are my favorite Texas big cities (and speaking of growth---Austin, holy moly!).

Ugh, I hate driving in Austin! Shudder. Give me too dry Houston anytime! I think our hurricane weather moved north to Illinois and Indiana this year... Welcome!
