Paul - you would HAVE to have a lovely 'Paul's Glory' wouldn't you? I was gonna suggest you add them to the database, but I'm sure you already have done so.

Let's see. Very tough question on 5 favourites.

I agree with 'Liberty'.

If I'm allowed 5 more, I'll check out a different folder of pics. I have them separated into 4 or 5 folders, alphabetically as they would be too large otherwise.

Let's see -

'Allegan Fog' is one I like a lot. Will have to check into those leaves that are showing such wide green margins if they are still there next year, though. I hope it's just one eye like that.
Thumb of 2011-11-22/ViolaAnn/d33611

'Alligator Shoes' - slightly smaller in 2011 than before as I moved it and took a few divisions from it at the end of 2010.
Thumb of 2011-11-22/ViolaAnn/9cd4d1

'Dancing With Leila" - my very own seedling of 'Last Dance which I named after a granddaughter. It's a dead ringer for 'Dance With Me'.

'Emerald Ruff Cut'

That IS a nice OS. Mine took quite a long time, but I think it might have been close to that this year.

Paul, I can't believe we have the same hostas, yours are just much bigger and nicer. I bought Dick ward at the end of the fall. I am in love with the emerald ruff-cut and the alligator shoes Lovey dubby they are on my list for the spring.
Do either of you know where I can buy H. Ventricosa. I want to experiment with the seeds. Whistling

I googled Hosta ventricosa and came up with some sources. Try that. I like ventricosa aureomarginata better. It could have been one of my favorites.

I like it better too but I think only the H. ventricosa is true to seed. I already checked out all the sources on google, they were all duds, I came up with nothing. Thumbs down

Solid green hosta will produce solid green offspring. Banded hosta will do the same. Venticosa is such an old variety that you may not find it. I don't grow it.

Paul is right - a very old variety. Best bet to find it might be someone's garden.

Love the pics. thanks for sharing them. I was also struck by Key Lime Pie. How large does it get? I'm out of space, but so far that hasn't slowed me down much.
