I am noticing in some of the entries that the photo hover feature is not working. It isn't showing the date of photo when hovering.

I was having the show the date when doing mouse overs. Some do and some don't.
I just figured out why. The older photos were set up with the date and zone in the caption area. The newer entries aren't set that way.
Hmmm, need to think about going through the entire semp database and adding the zone and date to the caption area. It is helpful to just mouse over while comparing all the photos for that plant.

Well, hold off on that Lynn. The caption isn't for the date and zone info - there are separate fields for that.

Why don't I just set it up so that it shows that info on mouseover? And then we'll be doing things properly around here. Smiling

Okay, this is now done! Mousing over the thumbnails in the gallery will now display the date and location of the photo in a tooltip.

This means that if you have previously been putting that information in the caption, each image needs to be edited to put those into the proper fields. I took the liberty of editing the images in the entry linked below so you can see how it works.

Hurray! Thanks Dave. All the ones with the date/zone/PNW are ones that came over from Cubits. I will start going through from the beginning of the database and fix them to show correctly. Thumbs up

Nice feature. If you go to my last photo entry which is Rose (Rosa 'Double Knock Out') and hover over the large picture, what do you see? Just curious.

Nothing shows because some of your images contain no caption, photo date or location. You can edit them to include this information if you wish.

I have a question Dave. Is it important how I enter the date information?
As:
9/26/2011
9-26-2011
2011-9-26
2011/9/26

Just wondering as I have a real mental block in doing it as 2011-9-26. Sad I can get the month and day mixed up as to which come first doing it this way.

Good question, Lynn.

I think I need to clarify my question. When I access that Rose entry from the Plants tab above and go to the page, there is larger (not enlarged) picture displayed upper right on all the pages that have any pictures. That's the one I'm referring to. Sorry for the confusion.
I garden for the pollinators.

Well, different parts of the world have the month before the day, and other parts have the day before the month, so it can get confusing for people.

My preferred way of displaying months is to use the month's english name, abbreviated to the first 3 letters.

So: Sep 26, 2011 would be ideal.
