Thread OP

Im not sure whether this is a weed or a pepper plant. I planted a hot pepper variety and hot hungarian wax peppers in my garden but not in this area. It is possible that a seed was dropped but the plant is producing these "fuzzy buds" (sorry for my amateurish terms). Id like to know if its a pepper plant or weed so I can pull if its a weed.

Welcome! to NGA!

Think you might have Pokeweed (Phytolacca americana)

Definitely not peppers.

Not a pepper plant, and not phytolacca either...
Flowers look like amaranth.

D'Oh! I think you're right. I kept looking at what will be flowers, and thinking they looked odd for Poke weed. But then again I've never seen poke weed at that stage... D'Oh!
Thanks stone!

Do you need some seed?

Pokeweed is a neat plant.

Welcome to NGA, @mmrabung !

I agree that it is definitely not a pepper Smiling
