Hello! I was surprised that I had hummingbirds in my backyard! Early July, I was picking cucumbers from my garden when I heard a loud noise and saw this little bird fly by. To my surprise it was a hummingbird! The hummingbird likes the nectar from the yellow flowers that bloom before the cucumber grows.
The following day I bought a hummingbird feeder and food for my little visitor! I've had the feeder out for almost 6 weeks and I was happy to see the two hummingbirds. I hope more visit before they have to head home.
I've seen videos on YouTube that people post. They make hummingbirds a water/sugar mix for food. I might try that after this liquid is done.
And as for my curious dog....here's Diesal...

Sometimes don't you wish you could tell them private property? This year I thought I dodged grasshoppers for the first time! The nymphs are now here. I had some nesting wrens! Ate bugs galore! When the babies left the nest, they left, too. 
One year I thought I was being garden smart by planting poisonous plants like foxgloves. Those grasshoppers said salad bar and ate them down! Come to find out they love plants like that because it makes them taste bad to birds! May you find many blessings throughout your life!
But I kinda could see him saying Oh mom, you know I am a cutie! Gardens and dogs it does not get much better! I live with my daughter and I am Grams to her three little cuties and her gardener. I will look for some photos of them to share!
