This one in the above photo still green at the juncture and shows no yellowing at the base of the pod. It looks healthy. If your original question was only about the shape of the pod, I haven't found shapes to mean much. Pods all look a little different, come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. Small pods can be packed full with seeds, large pods can have one, two, five, six or more or sometimes none. But when a pod begins to yellow at the base where it connects to the scape while remaining green at the top area, it generally signals the death of the pod, and it will soon abort.
