The first bloom of ANTIQUE ROSE in central Oklahoma, as far as I know, happened in the garden of a woman and on the day of the local club garden tour. She was so excited I was afraid we hadn't brought smelling salts with us.

Performed well in our zone 7 garden. Very attractive bloom.

Apropos of nothing in particular, Sarah Sikes, the hybridizer, was awarded the Bertrand Farr Silver Medal for hybridizing, after having won the Stout Medal for NEAL BERREY and the Lenington All-American Award for DESIGNER JEANS. In a banner year, she received all three awards on the same evening at the Awards Banquet in Denver, Colorado.

Thought you might like to know.

One of my earliest pink daylily to bloom, Antique Rose has a very pretty pink color when bloomed in cool weather. It is a slow increaser and has a rather low bud count and branching so its period of blooming is relatively short. Since it does not take alot of space and does not require regular division, it will always have a place in my garden.

I acquired 2 large fans of Antique Rose in April 2016. (Thanks to Karen for sharing!) It has been in a pot all this time waiting to be transplanted into a raised bed this Fall 2016. (Too hot to do any transplanting in Spring and Summer.)

It bloomed the beginning of June with some gorgeous blooms! I don't know for sure, but I believe it went into heat dormancy over the summer, as the current foliage looks skinny and new. It remains at 2 fans. There is a rusty plant right next to it, but Antique Rose is not showing any signs of rust on it's leaves, so the 1.0 rust resistance rating may be very accurate. I will be keeping an eye on it to verify!
