Attended the annual SIS (Susquehanna Iris Society) picnic and I was very lucky in the cultivar collection department. I knew that the club/society had ordered from Superstition Iris Gardens for the second year in a row. I am mostly a TB man, so I was interested in the three intros. Well, two as I got "Irresistible Charm in my order with Superstition. If you are a club/society, you can buy the whole intro for that year and they will double it. This was information that was very good and I was expecting to come away with one of the other two intros for this year. My wish (if I could only have one) was for Mystic Image. I want both, but..............................

more later when I have time. I need to go to New Jersey to help my son move (leaving the US Air Force). I will update when I can.

The clue picture is a Superstition 2016 introduction and is definitely a CLUE!!!!

My son made an appointment for a truck (10 foot) for 12pm. They pushed us back to 2pm and a 17 footer!!!

Funny story; because he is still active duty, his drivers license is expired. No big deal. This is ok for active military. Most companies can deal (like Enterprise), but Uhaul can't. So guess who is driving the truck?😳

Since I am away from home and work, I am using my phone to view and write. Pain in the butt.

So you all will have to wait a bit to get the "great" iris haul story.😫

Yes, this heat is ugly. Truck all loaded. Should be an interesting day. I will have to stop at the "Cake Boss" 's place and get my wife her "lobster tail" pastries before heading home. I hope to be home by 6pm if not sooner. We shall see.

Oh now that just isn't right to tease us with Cake Boss deserts when we're all too far away. Bad enough with irises but desert too? Hilarious! Hilarious!

I need to give some background. My Iris society likes to buy club irises from various vendors. We have bought from all of the big boys. The last two years we have purchased from Superstition. This is unusual. Normally we switch each year.

Why did we do this?

Because we wanted too!

Duh!

No. We had Rick Tasco come speak to our group in October of 2014 and then we decided it would be a good idea to buy from Superstition in 2015 for our picnic. It went so well last year that we did two in a row!

The cool thing for me was that I was Rick's contact/escort. I had the opportunity to have both Rick & Roger in my garden and discuss Iris stuff at length. Fab.

Did you stop at the Cake Boss place at Steel Stacks? If so, you were hanging out very close to my neighborhood!

Iris and cake! Good pairing!

I also ask Rick & Roger at the time of their visit if we (ATP) could use their pictures in our Iris database. Luckily for us, they said yes!!!

Our club has an auction each year (members & guests) so we buy from several people a year. It is great fun. Sale to the public next year. It alternates with the show. I hope the you & the truck continue to be safe.
