I'll add my evaluation:

Apple Swirl was a bonus plant which I knew nothing about. A single fan. It was planted and pretty much forgotten among all the double and triple fans in the same bed .... until it bloomed ..... what a lovely cultivar! This one wowed me when I saw the very first bloom. Large bloom at 10". Love the lime green throat and the dark lavender pattern on the petals. The scape seemed to handle holding the bloom up even though it was not a thick scape. It multipled to 3 fans within it's first year. Definitely a keeper in my garden! If I remember correctly it produced 5 blooms on that one scape.

Apple Swirl has increased from 3 to 6 fans.
The original 3 fans each produced a scape this Summer, scapes were 28!! inches high, 11 flowers per scape Thumbs up
Big flowers! (but I forgot to measure them... D'Oh! )

This is my 1 year later post, too.

Mine is still 1 fan. It did not bloom this year for me. It's just sitting there in a bed with many others that did not bloom this year. Those cultivars in the bed that did actually bloom, also re-bloomed. Go figure!

At least I didn't lose this one. But no increase at all. Still is a good looking fan. No rust. So ..... maybe next year it will bloom for me. I like to think that when daylilies are doing that, the root system is growing and will burst forth into multiple fans and lots of blooms the following year. But that is only wishful thinking. Sighing!
