If you live in a hot part of the country, and if you like growing succulents, you might be interesting in growing an edible succulent vine called Basella. There is a green one and a red one. I grow both.

They taste like okra, and are best when cooked up in a stir fry.

I forgot to add that they grow from both seeds and cuttings. And are often called Malabar Spinach, but they don't taste like spinach. They taste a little bit like okra.

Hardly anyone knows about them, but they are easy to grow in warm, sunny areas. They are a great source of soluble fiber. If you mix them into a salad, you won't even hardly notice them. And you get all that soluble fiber.

Here is the red version...

The stems look red. It's an attractive plant for sure! Edible = a bonus!

It is kind of hard to see. Only the stems are red.

The red ones grow faster, have smaller leaves, and seem more vigorous growers than the green variety. I prefer the red ones, but I do like the giant leaves of the green ones, too.
