I think it's fine. I don't think that stump is likely to sprout. My vegetables are doing fabulous over stump grindings from last winter. I don't think you're supposed to fertilize sod right away, but maybe once late fall - the wood may use some of the nitrogen in the soil. And water well, don't let the wood chips dry out.
The are or parts of it may settle over a few years, may have some filling or leveling down the road.
Plant it and they will come.
