I know we have different weeks set for various events on ATP/NGA, but is there ever a time we don't appreciate roses? I am fascinated by and envious of our California growers and other hobbyists in warmer regions who already have collections of beautiful pictures for 2015. Unfortunately our roses here in the upper Midwest won't be here for another month yet, or later. But, we at least have pictures from previous years. Anyway, here's to roses! Gorgeous banner, Leon.

Thanks everyone for the comments & thumbs! I had forgotten just how long ago I did this banner- April of 2015! How the time flies! Roses can be a little difficult here in what I call "Little-Siberia". There is always cold, bitter winter weather, and in summer comes the dreaded Japanese Beetles and the Brown Rose Chafers. These seem to never get enough to eat, and can make growing roses a challenge! But in spite of difficulties we always have a few in bloom around the yard & gardens. Here are some pictures of roses that I used in this banner.

Very nice to see the original photos used in a banner. You do have a lot to contend with (I hate Japanese beetles), but your roses look great Thumbs up

Vickie,
I don't usually show the bad pictures, but the Japanese Beetles and Rose Chafers will eat about anything. Japanese Beetles stay about all summer! Rose Chafers don't seem to last as long. Both are nasty!

Yes they are nasty! JB's are in southern Indiana from about the first of July through August, maybe a little later. I will have to look for rose chafers. I have not heard of them before, but maybe I just didn't look for them.

Thanks for posting the pics of the nasty ones, Leon. Fortunately, I've never seen them in person.
