I still have hope I'll be on vacation about the time the swap happens, LOL. I'm a fall vacationer, due to my garden of course.
It's interesting how different annuals are more invasive in different climates. Being in California it's too dry here for much invasive behavior. I do get some interesting weeds now and again though. The occasional "how did this get way over here?".

your comment gave me an idea , about trying some pots in the garage .

Do you have lights , do you water the lilies or are they just stored?

For me: nigella, rudbeckia hirta, california poppies, borage,

I've banished many because they were so invasive. Some were perennials: four o'clocks, verbena bonariensis,

The orlaya grandiflora - they are already popping up everywhere. Really lovely white blooms for late winter/early spring.

Yesterday before the frost, I was noticing cosmos, zinnias, and tomatoes.... Doubt any of them are gonna be around next week....

Ima big fan of self-sowers... I useta have cow peas that came back, and variegated peppers... The Everglades tomatoes are a nice addition... In the spring, I dig and share.

P. somniferum is always an easy plant to keep... If I fail to sow new seed in the autumn, I still have lots of flowers...

The rabbits are a little rough on the blackeyed Susans, they aren't as dependable as I would prefer....

I am intensely interested in re-seeders at the moment. I'm trying to construct a sel-maintaining cottage flower garden along the fence. I've receiving a dozen packets of self-seeders. I've planted 6 of each just to know some are growing, but the rest of the seeds will be scatterred randomly in hopes they will also grow. Since that is what is SUPPOSED to happen. It's an experiment.

If you never see pictures, it didn't work. LOL!

I have cleomes and calendula growing indoors, and more seeds to scatter this weekend. Yes, some petunias reseeded in my deck pots. Never saw any celosia do that but may have been the wrong varieties.

My celosia is a gangbuster for reseeding.
I have some larkspur that has been up for a while with our warm winter this year and we had a recent snow storm and they are still going strong.

Larkspur survive anything. They survived deadly cold winters here. It took me years to get rid of them. D'Oh!
