What is this little yellow bird on my sunflowers? They have been coming every day, late afternoon, to dine on my sunflower seeds. 2 males and 2 females. They are delightful, sing and tweet the entire time they are dining.

I also agree that it's a Goldfinch -- we have large flocks of them here, they must like living in our cedar trees . (And they stay around all winter, even though the males lose their bright coloration and don't get it back until spring. I love any birds that stick it out with us up here during the winter!!)

@Weedwhacker So if they stick around in winter in Michigan, they might stay here in mid-Ohio? Should I save up some sunflower seeds for them for this winter?

Oh, by all means! (well, they might clean you out of the seeds on your sunflowers, but they do love sunflower seeds in the winter, too; and also the "Niger seeds" (aka thistle seeds) which need a different type of feeder.

my goldfinches eat basil , coneflower , black eyed susan and zinnia as well as sunflower seeds.
I usually leave them out all winter and clean up in spring.
