Hi everyone I tip my hat to you.
I have a small spot in the garden and obviusly I want to put a daylily in there. But it should be really small and short. Shorter than Stella de Oro, if it's possible. I don't know how to search in the database because it requires to put and exact height in the search box. Thanks in advance!

I found Eenie Weenie on sale on the internet, from an italian nursery. Does any of you grow it? Is it really that small? The probleme here is that I have to put a 25€ order minimum. But I don't need anything else!

I grow Eenie Weenie. It is small, but not my smallest. My smallest is Penny's Worth. Mini Stella is also small. I will go out to my mini bed and make a list of all of the ones that have foliage that remains small.

Daylily flowers can be "small" in different ways. There are the truly miniature flowers (Penny's Worth), there are flowers which are small because they are consistently trumpet-shaped, and there are flowers which recurve tightly. Eenie Weenie falls into this last class. It's still a diminutive flower and plant though, with very good overall qualities.

I have Eenie Weenie in Zone 5a in Iowa. I have had it for several years and just moved it into the Fairy Garden since it is so small. Very pretty, but I needed to get it into more sun to increase. Blooms fairly early for me and I haven't seen much rebloom, but I hope the sun will help. Good luck!

Here are a couple of pictures of Eenie Weenie and another picture that shows Penny's Worth and Mini Stella, along with some other small daylilies. By small, I am referring to the stature of the plant, not the size of the blooms.

The first two photos are Eenie Weenie (in the middle, front, next to the hosta). The other daylilies surrounding it are more normal height. Eenie Weenie's foliage is only about 10", and the blooms are not held very high off the foliage.

This next photo shows Penny's Worth on the right and Mini Stella on the left. These are about the same foliage height as Eenie Weenie, but the flowers are quite tiny. The foliage is thinner and more grassy than Eenie Weenie. You can see the row of regular size daylilies along the back.

I also bought a couple of other small foliage daylilies this year, but I haven't had them long enough to comment on them. They are Bumble Bee that is supposed to be 12", with a 2" flower, and Welchkins that should be 12" with a 2.6" flower. I will look through my photos and see if I can find some of Penny's Worth, Mini Stella and Eenie Weenie in bloom.
I found a photo of Eenie Weenie in bloom taken this spring. I'll keep looking for photos of the other two.

Here is Penny's Worth. I don't seem to have a full clump shot of Mini Stella, but found one of a bloom.

The smallest daylily I have-as far as height-is Eenie Allegro. I really like the look of it, but after it blooms, the plant almost goes dormant. As far as smallest flower, Little Bumble bee isn't a registered variety, but it has tiny blooms that are well above the foliage. Really very cute. Probably you can search for "Little" "Eenie", "Mini" etc & come up with several. Little Bee is another tiny one, really too small I think.

Thanks everyone! I'd like a short and compact plant, not too invasive.
The only one I can find here it's Eenie Weenie but I dont want to buy 25 € of plants just for having that. Sad

Thanks Valerie for the pictures, they helped a lot!

Thanks Glen, I'm fine, the earthquake was far from here. Thank for the link too.

I have just one seedling from a stella de oro x taffeta mist cross. They are not so short but are the shortest here in my garden. So maybe I can try with this seedling since it's a bit difficult to buy just one little plant.

I grew Eeenie Weenie for years and years. It is a good one and money well spent if you can get it at a reasonable price. Here's a picture of mine in full bloom (pardon the lack of dead heading). It really makes a statement:.........Maryl
