hi that a shame, we have rhs national shows all over the country from april to september biggest is chelsea in london, but cant afford to go to that one, too expensive long way to go too
each town has its own local area garden club shows, there 5 garden clubs on the wirral
i been in a garden club for about 12 years won a few cups over the years even best in show
my friend got three cups this year and best in show, it was a lovely begonia
we have a system here where people open there gardens for charity
i been to a few of those, people have lovely gardens
do you do anything like that or maybe orchid shows? Smiling

That would be interesting, but the most I get to see is my MIL's garden, lol. And no Orchid shows here either. Sighing!

That must be exciting to win something for displaying your plants!

I got excited a couple years ago when I thought we were having a garden show, but then I realized it was just landscaping plants as a part of a home & garden show. Hilarious!

hi the people in uk have lots of allotments, small piece of land you can grow anything on, pay money to local council or private renters
we also have vegtable shows as well,i was looking at a hugh pumkin on friday at the rhs show, the work they put into it
I grown tomatos peas, carrots, strawberrys, raspberry and potatoes all in containers it the lastest thing here
you get catologue all winter for veg and flowers and bedding plants trouble is they sold bedding plants in groups of 70 to many for me, go to nice garden nursery now much better numbers Smiling

Rather than garden shows, I think people here go to big gardens and arboretums.

Here's one- a former estate of a very wealthy family

Our 'garden shows' tend to be landscape and home improvement sales demos.
Plant it and they will come.
