Dave, the system still isn't letting me add roses with the same names as existing entries. I tried to add a second 'Caprice' (there are actually four different roses named Caprice) and couldn't do it. I tried to work around it by adding the hybridizer's name to the entry, just to get it into the system, filled in all of the details, which are different from the ones for the other 'Caprice,' and then tried to change the name from 'Caprice Leenders' to 'Caprice,' but the system wouldn't let me do that either. It refuses to have more than one 'Caprice.' Smiling

Zuzu, the system is set to not allow duplicates, but I remember our earlier conversation about duplicate rose cultivar names.

I have now set the system so that it allows you (and currently only you) to add duplicates into the database. Be aware, though, that starting now, it will not check at all on your behalf, so when you add a plant you'll need to search first to see if it is not already there.

It's still not letting me do it, but maybe because I'm now trying to change the name of 'Caprice Leenders' to 'Caprice.' Is it set to just let me add something with a duplicate name, but not correct a name to a duplicate of another name?

That's right, I only added the exception for adding plants, not editing them.

I have now added the exception to the "Editing a plant" area, too.
